What Is Claudeforce?
Salesforce and Anthropic, the company behind the Claude AI model, are significantly expanding their collaboration. Under the name Claudeforce, the two companies are integrating Claude more closely with Salesforce, Agentforce and Slack. This enables Claude not only to access business data, but also to understand it in the relevant business context and take action in Salesforce.
This announcement represents more than another AI integration. Claudeforce shows the direction in which interaction with enterprise software is evolving: rather than clicking through applications, objects and records, users describe what they want to achieve. AI takes on part of the search, analysis and navigation, then initiates the appropriate actions.
Claudeforce is neither a new Salesforce Cloud nor a new language model.
How Do Salesforce and Claude Work Together?
The partnership spans several areas. Claude contributes capabilities for language understanding, reasoning and agentic work. Salesforce CRM provides business context, including company data, workflows, permissions and business logic.
The integration works in both directions. Users can make greater use of Salesforce directly within Claude. At the same time, Claude is used as a model within the Salesforce ecosystem.
Salesforce in Claude
Salesforce in Claude brings Salesforce capabilities to Claude through a plugin. At launch, 37 preconfigured sales skills are available. They support typical sales tasks, including preparing for customer meetings, analysing accounts and opportunities, and conducting pipeline reviews.
Unlike a traditional AI assistant, Claude not only provides information but also brings together Salesforce context and can then initiate actions in Salesforce.
For example, if a sales representative wants to know which opportunities require their attention, they may need to review several records, track activities and compare information. With Salesforce in Claude, they can simply ask: “Which of my opportunities for this quarter are at risk and why?”
Claude can analyse relevant Salesforce context, identify risks and highlight possible actions. Depending on the use case, it can then trigger actions directly – for example, updating a lead, escalating a case, creating a task or adding information to a record.
Salesforce in Claude initially launches as a pilot. An open beta will be available from September 2026. Further skills will follow. The first release supports sales roles, with additional business functions to be added later.
Claude in Salesforce
Claude is available as a model within the Salesforce ecosystem and is used in the Atlas Reasoning Engine, Agentforce Coworker and Agentforce Vibes, among other applications. Organisations can also use Claude in Agent Builder.
This keeps Agentforce as a key part of Salesforce’s AI strategy. Claudeforce does not replace Agentforce. Instead, the partnership expands its capabilities. Organisations can develop agents with Agentforce while connecting Claude more closely with their Salesforce processes.
Claude in Slack
Claude is also set to become more deeply embedded in the Slack work environment, working seamlessly with Salesforce data and actions. This follows the same core principle: business information and AI should be available wherever team members are working. As a result, switching between different applications is becoming increasingly less important.

Does Agentforce Replace Claudeforce with Immediate Effect?
Organisations already using Agentforce may wonder, following the announcement of Claudeforce, whether Salesforce will replace existing Agentforce use cases with Claude. At present, the two tools serve different purposes.
Agentforce serves as the orchestration layer for defined business processes. Organisations can specify which data an agent accesses, which actions it performs and at which points a language model makes a decision. This combines LLM reasoning with deterministic logic and existing Salesforce capabilities such as Flows or Apex.
For example, a service process can specify that certain information is retrieved as soon as a new case is received. The language model assesses the priority, Salesforce updates the relevant record, and the agent creates a response based on this information. Agentforce therefore combines flexible AI-driven decisions with structured and controllable process steps.
Salesforce in Claude takes a different approach. It makes Salesforce data, context and capabilities directly accessible in Claude. Rather than modelling a specific business process as an agent, team members can ask questions about their Salesforce context in natural language, consolidate information and trigger actions.
Claude for Salesforce is therefore likely to create an additional way to access Salesforce rather than replace Agentforce. Overlaps are most likely where Agentforce currently supports team members with knowledge-intensive tasks. For structured, recurring or event-driven processes, however, Agentforce remains the orchestration layer.
Existing Agentforce investments do not lose value as a result. On the contrary, Claudeforce and Agentforce demonstrate two distinct ways of leveraging the same Salesforce foundation for AI: through defined agentic processes on the one hand, and through more user-driven, dialogue-based interaction on the other.
What Does Claudeforce Mean for Salesforce Customers?
The initial sales skills provide a tangible starting point. More significant, however, is the development that comes with them. Claudeforce could change how team members interact with Salesforce and other enterprise applications.
1. Salesforce Comes to the Users
Traditional enterprise software usually follows a familiar principle: users open an application, navigate to the right area, find the relevant records and complete their task there.
With Claudeforce, Salesforce no longer has to be the place where a task begins. For example, data and functionalities can be made available directly in Claude or Slack.
This does not mean that the classic Salesforce interface will disappear. Instead, it gains additional access points. The CRM evolves from a single workplace into a platform whose data, processes and functions are available in the relevant work context.
2. From Information Gathering to Defining Objectives
The role of users will change. Until now, the key question has been where to find the information needed to complete a task. In future, it will be: "What do I want to achieve?"
Instead of deciding which objects, records and applications are relevant to a task, team members describe their goal in natural language. AI identifies the required data, brings together conversation histories, activities, contacts, previous interactions and information from other systems, and prepares a decision.
➔ Claudeforce transforms how people interact with business software. Users no longer need to know where data is stored or which process step comes next. They state their goal, and the technology provides the necessary context and appropriate actions.
3. AI Does Not Just Provide Information – It Takes Action
Generative AI is primarily used to create content, summarise information or answer questions. Agentic systems go further. The principle of question → answer becomes goal → context → analysis → action.
In conjunction with Salesforce, Claude can not only analyse information but also trigger actions in Salesforce. Salesforce remains the layer through which business rules and permissions are applied. This is crucial for use in an enterprise context. An AI agent should not only understand what could theoretically be done. It must also consider which data a person is authorised to view, which processes apply and which actions are permitted.
4. A Strong Salesforce Foundation Becomes Even More Important
Easier access through AI does not make the structure behind Salesforce any less important. Quite the opposite. The more independently AI agents work with company data and processes, the more important the following become:
- a reliable data foundation,
- clearly defined processes,
- clean business logic,
- Clearly Defined Access Rights and
- Effective governance.
An agent can only build on the context available to it. If data is incomplete, processes are inconsistent or responsibilities are not clearly defined, a new AI interface will not resolve these issues. This makes the investments organisations have already made in their Salesforce organisation, data models and processes even more valuable. They provide the foundation for AI to act reliably and in a controlled manner.
➔ The easier AI makes interaction with Salesforce, the more important the quality of the foundation becomes. An agent can only act reliably when data, processes and governance are clearly defined. Claudeforce does not replace these foundations for organisations. It increases their value.
5. How This Becomes Technically Possible
Three building blocks enable access to Salesforce beyond the traditional user interface:
- Headless 360 makes data, business logic, processes, permissions and governance available independently of the Salesforce interface. Salesforce explicitly positions it as an extension of the Lightning Experience, not a replacement. Find a detailed assessment in our article Headless 360: How Salesforce Becomes an AI Infrastructure.
- The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that enables agents to identify and use these capabilities.
- AIforce is a new offering in the Salesforce portfolio, bringing together existing and new capabilities in an enterprise harness. Through MCP servers, interfaces and CLI tools, it makes business data and workflows available to any agent without requiring complex individual integrations.
How Can Companies Prepare Effectively for Claudeforce Deployment?
Salesforce in Claude is still at an early stage. Organisations therefore have no reason to abandon proven AI tools and processes straight away. However, this development provides a good opportunity to review their AI strategy and prepare for future implementation in a structured way.
1. Identify Potential Use Cases
The starting point is identifying suitable use cases. Tasks where team members currently spend significant time compiling information from different data sets or applications are particularly relevant. Recurring analyses and clearly defined actions also offer strong potential.
2. Review the Salesforce Foundation
Organisations should assess whether their existing Salesforce organisation is prepared for agentic access. In addition to data quality and clearly defined processes, this includes permissions, business rules and governance. The key question is: based on our current structures, could we reliably allow an AI agent to independently access data and perform actions?
3. Taking a Broader View of Agentic Strategy
Finally, organisations should not limit their AI strategy to a single product. In the long term, whether they use Agentforce, Claude or another agent matters less. What matters more is which business data and processes agents can use and how they can access them securely.

Claudeforce Shows Where Enterprise Software Is Heading
Claudeforce is first and foremost a partnership between two leading technology providers. At the same time, it offers a glimpse of how day-to-day work with enterprise software can evolve.
In future, team members will need to know less about which system holds information or which individual steps they need to take. Instead, they describe the desired outcome while AI brings together the necessary context and prepares or carries out the appropriate actions.
The classic Salesforce interface remains important, but it is no longer the only point of access. Salesforce is becoming a central hub that people and AI agents access from different working environments.
This is precisely where Claudeforce's long-term potential lies: less time spent searching for information and navigating systems, and more time for the tasks and decisions these systems are designed to support.
