Customer Story
A Migration Project Became a Long-Term Partnership
DT’s acquisitions left it with three separate Salesforce orgs. Each carried its own data model and sales logic, plus integrations that other systems depended on. The task was to merge them while sales teams kept closing deals.
DT and Salesfive treated the migration as the starting point. They consolidated the three orgs, then kept refining processes until the platform could support DT’s business model at scale. The build runs on Salesforce Sales Cloud for sales operations, with two Experience Cloud portals where DT works with resellers and distribution partners.
The engagement has since grown well past the original implementation. Salesfive now advises DT on Salesforce strategy and handles both technical delivery and day-to-day operational support.

Challenges
Where DT started
Three business units ran three Salesforce orgs with separate integrations, in an industry where priorities shift quarter to quarter. The setup was complex on both the technical and organizational side.
Each business unit had built its own object structures, data models, and sales logic, so the orgs could not simply be merged. DT was also restructuring its sales teams during the integration so reps could sell products from every entity.
Salesfive and DT evaluated each unit’s approach, chose a common model, and added new rules for user management and data visibility. Every record had to move completely and accurately while sales operations continued without interruption.
DT’s market moves fast, and its strategies and operational requirements move with it. The team revisited decisions often, so the architecture had to absorb short-term changes without rework.
A single Salesforce change could affect sales, business operations, finance, business intelligence (BI), and engineering. Salesfive worked closely with each team to balance competing priorities while holding the project to one direction.
Earlier point solutions had layered complexity into the system, so every new requirement demanded a deep understanding of the underlying architecture. Growing regulatory obligations also called for more standardized processes to keep operations transparent and compliant.
Solution
The Project Success in Detail
DT runs a single consolidated CRM platform and continues to build on it as its product portfolio grows and its IT infrastructure centres on Salesforce. Salesfive has served as both implementation partner and long-term strategic advisor.
The Platform Supports Every Team from Marketing to BI
Before building, Salesfive mapped DT’s business processes across the full value chain. The resulting platform supports workflows from marketing and sales through finance and BI, with each solution built around how that team works day to day.
Salesforce Investments track DT’s business priorities
DT ties each Salesforce investment to its broader business goals. Salesfive helps rank initiatives and pushes back on requirements when needed, so each decision serves both current needs and long-term scale.
Structured Migrations Built a Reliable Data Foundation
DT’s core business processes now run on quality-checked data. Salesfive used Talend Open Studio to move large volumes of data consistently across the Salesforce orgs and to improve data quality along the way.
Custom Architecture Covers what Sales Cloud Does Not
DT’s business model goes well beyond standard Sales Cloud functionality. Salesfive redesigned contract management, campaign management, and complex approval workflows, then built custom solutions where the standard product fell short. The new structures support DT’s current requirements and leave room to grow.
An Oracle Integration Will Sync Customer Data Automatically
Salesfive helped design the architecture for an automated sync between Salesforce and Oracle across all business areas. To prepare, Salesfive standardized object structures and removed duplicate accounts. Once live, the integration will move client records from Salesforce to Oracle automatically, reducing manual work for finance and improving billing operations.
Salesfive Works as an Extension of DT’s Team
The partnership now includes operational roles such as product ownership and interim leadership of DT’s Salesforce team. Salesfive knows the platform architecture, the processes, and the people involved, so decisions happen quickly and the platform keeps pace as requirements change.
